Most sites give you information their way — you have no chance to customize the site’s “look,” and make it your own.

I want to be different. So one of the things you can do here is change the graphic “theme” used to display the site. You have a number of themes to choose from. All you have to do is scroll down this page, and over in the sidebar you’ll see something labeled “Display theme;” below that is a list of ten themes for you to choose from.

The default is “Accidental Greyscale,” but of course, you’re free to pick whichever one you like best. Your choice will be stored in a browser “cookie” on the computer you’re using, so it’ll define what the site looks like whenever you access it from the same computer using the same browser. All the themes use a minimum of graphics in an attempt to make the material easier to find and read. Hopefully by giving you a good selection of themes, I can accommodate a reasonable range of artistic preferences / monitor resolutions / visual acuities.

After you’ve settled on something, please go here and vote for the one you like the best. Eventually I’d like to whittle the list of themes down to 5 or 6, and your input will help me decide which themes live, and which ones die.

As far as I can tell, all the themes work well with all browsers (at least, the ones I currently have access to). Please drop me a line if you experience any problems!
