Casual Friday — flying to the space station on Skylon

With the space shuttle program winding down, there’s no shortage of contenders trying to replace it as a cargo hauler to the international space station. One of the more agressive proposals is called Skylon — a British design from the 1990’s (based on the HOTOL design from the 1980’s) that’s seeing new activity these days. Here’s a video showing how this monster vehicle some 82 meters (269 feet) long would conduct a mission to the ISS (direct link):
