Anybody that’s at all familiar with the steampunk ethos will be comfortable with the idea of melding old and cutting edge technologies. But here’s one take on the idea I didn’t see coming — an LED pocket watch:
Paul Pounds inherited a collection of old pocket watches when his horologist grandfather died in 2005. In tribute to his grampa, Paul took one of the broken watches and replaced its guts with custom circuitry in order to make it all modern inside. It’s an amazing piece of work — Paul has a nice writeup on the process he went through to make it, too.
