Casual Friday — the Jewish origins of Spock’s Vulcan Salute on Star Trek
This video went “viral” pretty quickly over the past week, so maybe you’ve already seen it. Still, it was news to me — it’s a clip from the Archive of American Television, in which Leonard Nemoy talks about his introduction of the “Vulcan Salute” to the original Star Trek TV series — based on a blessing gesture used in Jewish worship:
